| The Friedrich Schiller University Jena was founded already in 1558 and is today the largest university in the state of Thuringia offering a wide range of study subjects to more than 20.000 students. Different groups within the computer science department work on topics related to Semantic Web technology. The FUSION (FUnctionality Sharing In Open eNvironments) group at the department of mathematics and computer science focuses on the transparent, integrated usage of resources in open, heterogeneous, dynamic environments. The ultimate goal of this research is to build systems that optimally support users in achieving their goals without the need of human intervention. This goal is approached in various projects centered around Semantic Web Services as well as next generation adaptive Web Portal systems.
